Furnald Hall is a dormitory located on the campus of Columbia University in New York City. Originally built in 1914, this historic building was designed by the noted architect George B. Post in a Beaux-Arts style.
The dormitory offers accommodation for around 400 undergraduate students and is located in the northwestern part of the campus, close to the popular destination of Riverside Park. Furnald Hall is known for its unique architecture and stunning views of the city, including the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge.
The amenities within the hall include a massive cafeteria, lounges on each floor, and a piano room for musical students. Furnald is known for its intimate community and tight bonds between residents.
Many famous Columbia alumni, including former U.S. President Barack Obama, have lived in Furnald Hall while they were enrolled as students.
